INAUGURATION OF THE SOUTHWESTERN REGIONAL FORENSIC PSYCHIATRY CENTER

On August 19, 2026, the Southwestern Regional Forensic Psychiatry Center—a project developed by the Specialized Project Management Board for Medical Facility Construction—was officially inaugurated. This event marks a significant milestone in strengthening the forensic psychiatry system serving the Mekong Delta region.

The Center was established to meet operational and developmental needs regarding forensic psychiatric assessment across the Southwest region, in alignment with its approved functions and mandate. The facility contributes to completing the specialized regional forensic psychiatry network, enhancing assessment capacity, expertise, and efficiency. It also addresses requirements related to judicial proceedings, legal processes, and needs concerning overseas travel, study, and employment, in accordance with regulations.

A consortium comprising ICU Construction Investment and Consultancy JSC and International Construction Investment and Consultancy Co., Ltd. (ICIC) served as the design consultant for the project, proudly partnering with the project owner and stakeholders throughout the implementation process.

The completion of each medical facility represents not only a milestone in terms of progress and quality but also a practical contribution to upgrading specialized medical infrastructure, serving the community, and enhancing professional capabilities within the region.
